It is the end of the afternoon on Wednesday now and we have had a busy couple of days. I have now had two fantastic lessons with Bettina. She is such a good instructor and Arthur and I both really respond well to her style. I have also had my first walk around the cross country course. There is quite a bit to do in the beginning and I am sure the leaf pit (the drop off the edge of the world) won’t look any better from up on a horse!!! That being said it does look good and I am happy to be doing this course for the first time on Arthur. He is such a supreme athlete and I know all of these questions are easily within his ability…. that being said we still have to get to all the fences right!!! We also had the first horse inspection today. Libbi had Arthur turned out beautifully, and I got to wear Diane’s lucky (****and gorgeous***) diamond necklace!!! It was bound to go perfectly — and it did! Arthur was very well behaved (there were many horses that were not). All the American horses passed without a hitch. On a not as great note — Buck had to go to the hospital because of a hernia and I just heard they are going to have to do surgery — serious bummer.
