Going for Gusto
“Gus” is a 2003 17.2 hand liver chestnut American Thoroughbred gelding. Gus started his life at the race track and has an incredible work ethic, kind personality, and is truly beautiful and extremely athletic. In his first Training level event (and his first competition with Allison in the irons) Gus took home the blue ribbon, winning on his dressage score. Allison feels that this horse has endless talent and is a strong candidate to be the perfect partner for a professional, adult amateur or young rider.
In 2011 Gus continued to be successful in his first season at the Preliminary Level and moved up to Intermediate in 2012, again showing tremendous capabilities. He shows up to work every day, and never has an excuse. He has a tremendous jump and is careful and brave, the perfect combination. Gus continued his winning ways at the end of the 2013 season, finishing the year off with a first place finish at Maryland Horse Trials. So far in 2014, Gus and Allison scored a 26.4 in dressage in the Preliminary Division at The Fork to finish in seventh place, and competed at Millbrook Horse Trials in the Preliminary division and finished seveth there as well. They also finished 7th in the Open Intermediate division at Morven Park. Please call for price or more information.
